Who's Who presents Chris Carrier

There are two kinds of DJs: those whose goal is to make a name for themselves and those whose goal is to make music - and let the rest follow. Parisian Chris Carrier is among the latter. For more than a dozen years he's been an underground icon, churning out more than one hundred records and remixes for a host of labels. Too busy working to chase a spot in the limelight, Carrier is nevertheless rightly revered as one of the most gifted, prolific producers on the dance scene. Refusing to restrict his output to one genre or one school of thought, Carrier has dabbled freely in everything from house to hip hop, drum 'n'bass to minimal, techno to electro. Most DJ shave one label - if at all - but Chris is so restlessly creative he's founded a whole fistful of labels over the course of his career, including the renowned Adult Only imprint, Chronobrain, Combustible, Taka, X86 and Direct Art. He has also worked under more than a fifteen aliases. However, youthful notions of being a baker ("I like cakes," he says) lost out to music when he discovered the early 90s techno rave scene and began to DJ. Driven to be the master of his musical destiny, Chris quickly learned to produce and created pioneering techno outlet Chronobrain with Guillaume La Tortue. For seven-odd years Chris devoted himself the label, and its offshoots including house-oriented Taka and drum 'n' bass imprint X86.However, his love for rave culture led him back towards more purely creative work. From 2003 onwards Chris has founded new labels Adult Only and Catwash, as well as bringing his vision to Get Physical, Crack & Speed, Brique Rouge, Robsoul, Kill Brique and - most recently - Freak n' Chic. This has put the underground star firmly in the forefront of the new French electronic movement, bringing his diverse style to the sexy, deep, techy house vibes that dominate the scene. Chris is more sought-after than ever for his DJ skills - he's penetrated the
notorious US market with gigs in Georgia, San Francisco, Denver, Las Vegas and Miami. And plays in Europe's clubbing capitals: London, Paris, Madrid, Amsterdam and Milan, to name a few. Look out for his gigs, and Chris's forthcoming remix of Matthew Dear's Dog Days - the first of many exciting projects for this unique artist in 2008.

Who's Who presents Massimo Di Lena

Young and talented, Massimo Di Lena (aka Massi DL) structures his  artistic research on the continuous developments in electronic music, that he elaborates with charming eclecticism. A witness of that is his brief but intense career, started as a Dj with hip-hop and funky selection at some of his friends'parties and then evolved into exciting performances imbued in techno and house grooves in front of the crowds of the best international clubs.
To consacrate the success is the constant and fruitful work as a producer.
The first release on the English vinyl label  Multivitamins dates back to August 2006,
Between February and March 2007 the ep "1up" on Fankie rec and "Microbiotik remix", arranged for his friend Joseph Capriati, are released. Those tracks are supported and played by DJs like Marco Carola and Richie Hawtin. The remix is even licensed for the compilation "Amnesia Ibiza Underground 7". In November of the same year he signes two tracks - Wonderland and Acidland - for the renowned German label Trapez and simultaneously starts a collaboration with the dj/producer Xpansul leading in 2008 on the label "Soma Recordings". Still in  the same year Massi DL founds his own label with Lucio Aquilina - Wordless - whose first release appears on the compilation :"Fuse presents Adam Beyer" of the Belgian club Fuse.
The different experiences around the world enrich the cultural background of the Neapolitan producer. With the remix for Nic Fanciulli on NRK and Brett Johnson on Frankie rec. the first signs of evolution can be found. The sounds are housey with clear old school influences, always interpretated  with his innate sense of exploration. In 2009 the artist holds several collaborations: with Carola Pisaturo he gives life to the project called Vegas Gas on Claque Musique, with Dario Di Pace he starts a project called "Horacio", a pseudonym through wich he lands on labels such as Raum...Musik and Cynosure. This project receives great success. It is in fact the year 2009 that marks a decisive artistic and professional maturation of the young Neapolitan and an important step onwards in his career due also to his newly born collaborations with Luciano's "Cadenza Records" and Federico Molinari's label "Love letters from Oslo", which will start from november 2009 and the tracks will be released with the artist's real name: Massimo Di Lena.
